Doghouse + (Phase II): ‘Womb’

As we now move the design forward toward a single concept, I am pursuing the idea of a “womb” as a means to house a dog. That is, the shell of the structure consists of mostly water which functions as a thermal barrier as well as to sustain the occupant (in this case a dog).  The use of water as a thermal insulator is reminiscent of the placenta within which the developing fetus lives and feeds.

Arriving at the “WOMB”

I like the direction your design is headed. It has a very futuristic look to it. Have you worked out how the food and water are delivered? It’s not clear from the diagrams.

Erik, thanks. Still haven’t decided if this will inflate or consist of a series of panels which slide into one another. By inflate of course I mean fill with water.

Looks incredible. The design has really evolved and have successfully found a dynamic form, but something that looks ergonomic and comfortabe, i.e. the womb effect. Nice work.
